This online module reinforces an educator’s understanding of organizational development and the role of a guaranteed and viable curriculum in the continuous improvement of schools, teaching and learning for all students. Through guided lessons and activities, school administrators and key members of school improvement teams learn to create a plan of implementation, monitoring, support, and evaluation that will lead to vertical and horizontal alignment of their educational institution.

Learning Targets:

  • Create understanding of how horizontal and vertical sequencing alignment can increase student achievement.
  • Build interdependent skills and capabilities in an effort to lead and sustain a vision
    for alignment.

  • Create and foster a plan of action for aligning practices within a grade level, building
    and district.

Learners Can Expect To:

  • Read a variety of articles connecting research to current realities, guiding ones’ thinking towards actionable alignment practices.
  • Engage with assignments that are connected to authentic realities, build upon one another and are adaptable based on leadership role. Sample documents will be provided as a scaffold.
  • Receive feedback on submitted documents as well as individualized coaching and consultation when requested.
