Next year's transition from MSTEP to the PSAT 8/9 at grade 8 will be a significant shift for middle school students, staff and parents. The curriculum, instruction and logistical considerations will require administrators and staff to become familiar with the College Board suite of assessments - as soon as possible. Don't worry! We're here to help with the process!

MASSP has designed a new one-day workshop that:

  • Familiarizes staff with the PSAT 8/9 assessment
  • Assists with planning for curriculum and instructional shifts
  • Introduces the College Board reporting portal
  • Highlights College Board requirements in terms of special education accommodations, permitted calculators, room set up and general testing considerations
  • Provides information that can be shared with parents and students about a PSAT 8/9 night

This is a great PD opportunity, with all the usual things you've come to expect from MASSP. Participants will:

  • Have access to the slidedeck to replicate what we do with your staff.
  • Receive all of the new handouts we've created to complete activities with students, staff and parents.
  • Leave the session feeling confident that you can lead this work with your school community.

This workshop is most beneficial to schools that send a team inclusive of a principal and counselor, as well as a teacher of 8th grade ELA, Math and possibly special education.
