January Student Leadership Newsletter
Laughter, Fun, and an Injection of Motivation!
While there were only about 100 advisers there, the energy that circulated made it feel like twice as many! This past Thursday/Friday, January 24-25, MASSP hosted advisers from around Michigan at the MASC/MAHS Annual State Advisers Conference in Mt. Pleasant. We kicked off the evening with Karen Dawson, who shared tales of humor and inspiration and provided advisers some much needed laughs and the reinforcement to keep doing what they're doing - leading student leaders. Who knew you could do so much with a paper plate!?!?
Leadership Classes in Michigan
We've slowly collected some information from advisers around Michigan regarding leadership classes. If you are interested in knowing more about offering a leadership class at your school (high school or middle), these advisers have established programs and are willing to share their information. We hope to continue building this page as we discover more schools offering leadership classes!

Upper Peninsula Scholarship
Each fall, the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) sponsors an MASC/MAHS Fall Training Institute. This one-day seminar for leadership students (student council, honor society, class officers, etc...) will focus on a few main leadership topics. The subjects will revolve around job descriptions/duties, problem solving, teamwork, project planning, diversity, and others. The conference is being hosted by Menominee High School, at Bay College in Escanaba.
Welcome to Your New Site!
We have worked on bringing you this new site for over a year! From reorganizing the content on our old site to figuring out which features to provide, it was a long, exhausting process for all those involved. Finally, it is here and ready for you. Over the next couple of weeks, we will provide some online tutorial videos, all under 5 minutes in length, so that you can understand how the site works and what you can do with it.
