SUBJECT: Second Reminder-Dual Enrollment Notification to Students

According to the Postsecondary Enrollment Options Act (1996 PA 160), and as stated in the Pupil Accounting Manual, Section 5G-1;

Do you have questions about Dual Enrollment?

• When should students sign up?
• How does a student qualify?
• What tests do your students need to take?
• What are the most common courses students take?

Sam answers these questions and Jim explains the laws related to Dual Enrollment and how certian college classes count towards high school credits.  Listen in!

It looks like Rep. Joel SHELTROWN (D-West Branch) would need to get enough votes to override a veto if he hopes to see his bill, HB 5943, get enacted.

HB 5943 would create a dual diploma system for "students who don't fit the mold for going on to college".

"We're not in support of lowering standards," Granholm Press Secretary Liz BOYD told MIRS today. "We fought for more a rigorous curriculum and our support for that continues."
