Election 2012 in 5 Weeks (or Fewer)

With the 2012 general election approximately five weeks away, MASSP, MASA, MASB, MAISA, and MSBO have joined forces to create a member engagement campaign and website (Stop2and5.com) that will give the education community a more prominent voice going into election day, Tuesday, November 6. This week, we are kicking off our efforts with a reminder to our membership about the legal do's and don'ts for school administrators, principals, and board members engaging in political campaigns. In the coming weeks, you will receive fact sheets on Proposals 2 and 5, be asked to send letters to the editor to your local newspapers, and get the opportunity to inform voters and get out the vote through social media. MASSP will also be including information on the State Board of Education race and other key issues that voters will decide.
