The Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) is seeking schools that demonstrate exemplary commitment to student education.  Together, with our sponsor MEEMIC Insurance Company, MASSP is pleased to announce the kick off of our new school recognition program Ready, Set, Success!

MASSP Executive Director, Jim Ballard explains, “We want to honor schools whose decisions have resulted in positive change. We also want to share the secrets of success with other schools across the state.  MEEMIC Insurance Company shares our commitment to giving back to the Michigan educational community, and is partnering with us in support of this effort.”

The Ready, Set, Success! program will recognize school improvement teams’ successful strategies in the following categories: collaborative leadership, and professional learning communities, or, personalizing school environment, or, curriculum, instruction, and assessment, or, ideas to reduce educational costs. Eight high school, four middle school, and one regional career technical education programs will be chosen every year. All programs submitted will be searchable on MASSP’s website and chosen programs will be featured at MASSP’s Annual Convention.

School improvement teams whose programs are selected will receive school-wide recognition, a check for $500, and their principal will be provided a scholarship to attend the MASSP Annual Convention, compliments of MEEMIC Insurance Company.

Information about the Ready, Set, Success! Program, as well as the application form, can be found on www.mymassp.com/readysetsuccess. Chosen programs will be announced in October 2009.
