Each week, MASSP looks through all of the MDE communications sent to the field, including Memos and Spotlight, to ensure that you're aware of important information and deadlines. On Thursday, several MDE Memos were issued that you don't want to miss regarding 21f changes and Educator workforce white papers and webinars. Each memo can be found below.

MEMO #107-17
Section 21f Education Development Plan Requirement Change

The Michigan Department of Education received several inquiries regarding Section 21f of the State School Aid Act (MCL 388.1621f), with concern over the requirement for education development plans for students enrolled part-time through a shared time program, or otherwise through Section 166b of the State School Aid Act (MCL 388.1766b). Effective immediately, membership shall not be deducted for a student who enrolled under Section 166b, who is also enrolled in more than two virtual courses under Section 21f, where the enrolling district does not have an education development plan on file.
