How long have you worked in education?
19 years

How long have you been an administrator?
12 years

Give us a few personal details.
Married to my wife Lorri for 17 years. She is an Elementary Art teacher in the Lake Fenton School District. I have two sons (Zack-12 and Caden-10). When not at school, I am following my kids and all of their activities. I am an avid sports fan specifically following the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates.

What do you find most challenging about your job?
The most challenging part of my job is trying to balance everything during the day because there are so many students and requirements of the position and trying to give the appropriate amount of time that everything deserves.

What is most rewarding about your job?
Making a difference in the lives of our students.

Tell us about a program/initiative at your school that you are proud of.
The Raider Hotline where kids can text me anonymously to report concerns. In many cases, students feel connected to me more because they have texted with me.

What advice would you have for those who are new to the Principalship?
Set your priorities and focus and stay true to your beliefs.

What is something you are working on or hoping to implement in the near future?
Student Resource Time built into the day to provide additional academic support to students as well as eliminate time when students are pulled from class for class meetings, college recruiter visits, etc.

Tell us about a training or book you've read recently that you found to be beneficial.
Reach by Andy Molinsky. It is a great book that provides strategies to you step outside of your comfort zone.
