How long have you worked in education?
16 years

How long have you been an administrator?
2 years

Give us a few personal details.
I just married in July 2017 to Keyatta (Nicky) Sumpter. I have 2 awesome kids, Tyson and Tania Davis. I love spending time with my family. I also have a few hobbies that I enjoy: playing golf & basketball, riding motorcycles, working out and reading.

What is something you are working on or hoping to implement in the near future?
We are working on a new PBIS system in the district. I’m hoping we will have it fully implemented by the 2nd semester.

Tell us about a training or book you've read recently that you found to be beneficial.
Shifting the Monkey by Todd Whitaker is a very good read. It discusses the problems that occur when you shift responsibilities to someone else. Also, how it deteriorates the organization as a whole by relieving people from being accountable to their roles and responsibilities.

What do you most value about your MASSP membership?
For a new principal, the month checklist are one of the most valuable pieces of information. It helps give direction and information about upcoming topics and deadlines.
