Principal Certification

MASSP’s alternate path to principal certification program, “Path to Leadership”, recently received full approval from the Michigan Department of Education. The approval is for five years and requires a yearly audit to ensure program standards are being achieved. What is the alternate path? In a nutshell, Path to Leadership allows participants to earn their principal certificate: in an online environment, in a shorter time frame, at a more reasonable cost, in a research based, highly applicable program. The modules are all facilitated by instructors who have walked the walk as building administrators and are dedicated to creating assignments with practical application.
If you yourself would like the peace of mind of having your K-12 Principal certificate or if you know of an aspiring administrator who does not have an Ed Leadership degree, please consider the Path to Leadership program. Who is better equipped to prepare the future leaders of our schools than the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals?
Please see the Path to Leadership section on our website for a number of supporting documents: program overview, an application checklist and a calendar for the next cohort. Any questions? Chelsey Martinez in the MASSP office will be happy to assist you: chelseym@michiganprincipals.org.
