The 2018 Student Leadership State Conference is open for registration! Last year we saw a record number of students, as more than 100 schools and 2,000 student leaders from across Michigan came together to take a closer look at school-wide engagement tactics, school improvement initiatives and developing world class programs. With a schedule engineered to improve the culture of Michigan schools, this is the can’t miss program of the year – and we want your school there!

As educators, we know that the single greatest factor in achievement is passion. Each year, MASC/MAHS Michigan Student Leadership strives to instill a desire to learn and grow in students through dynamic programming and educational leadership. This ideology culminates for our largest event of the year, our State Conference.

The State Conference allows students to hear from renowned national keynote speakers, engage in structured leadership activities, attend student-delivered showcase presentations, take part in our State Awards competition and ceremony and network with the top programs and student leaders in the state. Throughout the weekend, we celebrate and reinforce the positive work that our students have accomplished during the year – while ensuring that attendees leave with new ideas, concepts and pragmatic steps to create a better school environment back home.

Showcase Presentations
During the State Conference students are treated to student-delivered presentations selected from our Regional Connect events. These student "showcases" present topics, programs and ideas that are being executed throughout the state of Michigan, ranging from peer mentor groups, anti-bullying programs, community service projects and much more. Each showcase contains detailed information on the action student leaders took to create change in their school and how other schools can put these ideas to work for their own schools. Showcase presentations offer networking and idea sharing sessions to our State Conference Line up.

Structured Activities
In order for our students to put some of their conference experiences into real world application, our host school helps to design student structured activities that continue the dialogue on the importance of self-growth, leadership philosophy and other curricular items to support the educational growth mindset. These activities are interactive, challenging and most importantly, a fun way to teach our student leaders.

Join us March 24-26 at the Amway Grand in Grand Rapids. For more information on the Student Leadership State Conference, including registration details, check out the States website.
