Assistant Principals
It was a tremendous opportunity and my distinct pleasure to have served every Assistant Principal in the State of Michigan, those currently a member of the MASSP as well many not yet a member. Our new MASSP Assistant Principal Commission Chair, Mr. Dave Eichberg, is the past MASSP Assistant Principal Commission Secretary and current Assistant Principal at St. Joseph High School. Best of luck Mr. Eichberg and thank you for your continued efforts, support, and Vision, for AP's throughout Michigan and beyond.
If I may be of service or answer questions regarding your MASSP Membership for the 2008 - 2009 school year, please contact me immediately. Congratulations to all on another successful school year and best wishes for a safe, happy, and fulfilling summer with family and friends. Thank you again to those in attendance and especially to those providing your services and/or expertise at the MASSP 2008 Summer Retreat at Crystal Mountain.
Sincerely,
Bob Francis, Ferndale Middle School

How many are AP/AD combined and what is your student population?
On the average, how many behavior referrals do you receive a day?
I feel that the behavior referral should be one of the last resorts when dealing with students. Scheduling Software
We in Coloma are switching to trimester scheduling for the 08-09 school year, and have found that the software used for scheduling through our ISD is inadaquate. Does any one know of a stand alone software program available that just does scheduling? Our hope would be to use this program to schedule our kids and then manually input it into our ISD system.
Thank you!

What are your expectations/requirements for students taking online classes?
I am looking for anyone who can share some information with me regarding expectations or requirements you have at your district with students taking online classes. Do you do credit/no credit only or is there a grade involved? Does it count towards weekly eligibility for athletes? Is there a penalty beyond loss of credit or poor grade if they fail the class since it is an extra out of pocket expense for the district?
Off campus drug question
Two of my students were arrested off campus in the evening for possession with the intent to deliver drugs. What would your student code of conduct consequence be for this infraction if anything?

If you do an outdoor graduation, can you please respond to this question and provide pro's and con's to doing it outside, as well as rescheduling policies/information. Also, if the ceremony takes place on artificial turf, how do you handle that? Any information is appreciated!
How are districts handling numerous tardies without using out-of- school suspensions
The number of tardies has skyrocketed this year. I can't figure out why.
Myspace
Has anyone dealt with the legality of having a student, who is in possession of school property, to show you their private Myspace page to track who/where they sent the school property to? Our admin team is split on this issue. The issues are: Are items sent over the Internet public domain? Is the “public” part of Myspace public domain and the “private” section not?
