Auditing Your Current MTSS System

Event Date/Time:
Thursday, May 10, 2018 - 9:00am - 3:30pm

A multi-tier system of supports (MTSS) is a framework for providing instruction to students. Many building leaders will tell you, “Yeh, we do MTSS.” But how many of you are sure you're truly implementing MTSS effectively?

In an attempt to combat the large number of suspensions and expulsions across the state, new legislation requires all school administrators to re-evaluate their internal student referral processes and support systems within an MTSS structure. The purpose of this workshop is to provide administrators with a systemized auditing process that is designed to measure the effectiveness of their internal MTSS systems.

The audit focuses on the following systems: building level referral processes, student supports, staffing resources and internal data collection. This workshop is designed to be a work session, so please be prepared to spend some time reflecting on your individual building or district as you move through the auditing process.

Workshop presented by Rick Couturier, retired Holt Middle School Principal and Education Evaluation Regional Coordinator and Facilitator for the Ingham ISD
