Promotions and Job Changes
β Dennis Kemp, principal, Kosciuszko Middle School in Hamtramck, Michigan, will be taking over the Davidson Middle School principalship in Southgate this fall.
β Michael Greening is the new principal of Royal Oak High School. Michael is a 1984 graduate of the school.
β Roger Bearss will take over the reins of Millington High School in the fall of 2007. Millington HS is his alma mater.
β Several administrative changes will occur this fall in the Flushing School District. Jason Melynchek, an Assistant Principal at Grand Blanc HS will take over the principalship from Gary Whitmore who is retiring. Andrew Schmidt, Assistant Principal at Flushing Middle School will become principal, replacing Rita Brust, who will retire.
β Lynn Batchelder, Kent Career Technical Center teacher, will be the new principal of Kent City High School in Kent City, Michigan.
β Harriet Cheek, principal of Woodcreek Elementary School in the Lansing School District, will be the new principal of Buena Vista High School in Saginaw, MI.
β Patrick Little, Assistant Principal of Chelsea High School and BR II trainer, will become the new principal of Beach Middle School in Chelsea. Andy Ingall, former Beach Principal, is now the Executive Director for Instruction and Community Services in Chelsea.
RETIREMENTS
β Gail Sims, Assistant Principal of Brighton Middle School, will retire this June after 33 years in education.
β Janice Johnson, Lead High School principal and former principal of Union High School in Grand Rapids Public Schools, will retire June 29th.
β R. Michael is retired for Oakland Technical Campus-SW.
β Michael Vogel, principal of Woodhaven High School, will retire at the end of the school year after 41 years in public education, 39 years in Michigan.
β Harold Deines will retire after 36 years in education, 13 years as principal of Greenville High School.
β Tom Frampton, Millington High School Principal, is retiring at the end of the month.
