Do you ever have those projects that you have a personal attachment to? Well our workshop entitled, Negotiating Your Contract is one of those for me. I remember one year being told to open the matchbook cover the Supt. handed me to see what my next year's salary and benefits would be. Ever since that time I've always had a slow burn regarding the way building administrators are treated.

Juashaunna Kelly, a Theodore Roosevelt High School senior who has the fastest mile and two-mile times of any girls' runner in the District this winter, was disqualified from Saturday's Montgomery Invitational indoor track and field meet after officials said her Muslim clothing violated national competition rules.

GRANDVILLE -- Grandville High School students who take Advanced Placement classes now will find an "A" or "B" counts for a little more. After debate over when and how to implement it, the Board of Education approved a weighted grade policy for such classes. Board members voted 7-0 to implement the policy for freshmen who enroll in AP classes during their sophomore year, the 2008-09 school year.
