What process did you use to determine 4th year math RELATED courses?
We had departments apply for Math related credit by aligning their elective courses with HSCE's. We used state objectives from pre-algebra thru Algebra II. Most of our courses align with pre-algebra or algebra objectives. The courses that were approved were from our business and industrial tech departments. Our courses include:
Business: Accounting I (A and B), Accounting II (A and B), Advanced Personal Computers, C++ Programming, Personal Finance, Advanced Personal Finance, Personal Computers, Visual Basic I and Visual Basic II.

Are there any districts that make allowances for student driving to CTC based only on student request with parental permission?
Transportation for Career Technical Centers – We are considering allowing our students to drive to the Career Technical Center with their parent’s permission. We currently allow students to drive only for academic, work, or for individual special circumstances. Are there any districts that make allowances for student driving based only on student request with parental permission? What issues need to be addressed when considering this kind of policy?
What is your policy on allowing students to retake classes which they have already passed?
We have a number of seniors who wish to retake classes in which they received an A- earlier in their high school careers. The purpose is to restore their 4-points so they may be considered for Valedictory honors. This is uncharted territory for us. This situation has come about because we base class rank solely on an unweighted GPA. Thus, Val and Sal often become a farce, going to the kids who are the most GPA conscious and not those who learn the most!!!!!! Any ideas or suggestions?????
Thanks,
Dennis Peacock

science countertops
I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but our school has science counter tops and I was wondering if anyone needs some in the area? There are 13 sections. 8 have sinks 5 do not. three counters are 8 feet long, two are 7 feet 6 inches long, two are 5 feet 6 inches long. There are six sections that range from 5 feet - 8 feet. There are also some trim pieces. Let me know if you are interested.
What types of Cell Phone Policies are other schools using?
We have a no cell phone policy between the hours of 8:15-3:01 yet teachers comment that students are texting everytime they turn their backs. I would like to know what types of policies other schools are using. We confiscate for 24 hours for a 1st offense.
